Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services E&E Korea gains the PTCRB associate lab qualification

Bureau Veritas CPS E&E is pleased to announce that its electrical and electronics laboratory in Korea obtained a new PTCRB associate laboratory qualification with RSE (Radiated Spurious Emission) scope for mobile device testing.  This PTCRB associate lab qualification demonstrates that Bureau Veritas has the capability to provide mobile testing services which are aligned to the PTCRB RSE* test scope for both GERAN (2G) and UTRA (3G) user equipment (terminals).

Located in Suwon-si city nearby Seoul, the Bureau Veritas’ Korea laboratory was set up to meet the local testing and certification services needs for electronic products as well as to capture the market share of this global mobile device industry in Korea.  The laboratory occupies 500 square meters and is equipped with 3 test chambers to support the testing services for wireless products,  which have 2G /3G /LTE technologies,  such as notebook, iPad, Hotspot AP, etc.

• RSE Chamber: support GSM / WCDMA / TE RSE testing for CE/FCC/GCF/PTCRB approval
• OTA Chambers: support GSM / GPRS / EGPRS / WCDMA / LTE / A-GPS / Wi-Fi / CDMA / 1xRTT / EVDO OTA testing for GCF / PTCRB / Carrier (AT&T, Vodafone, etc.) approval

Along with this PTCRB associate lab qualification, the Korea laboratory offers a one-stop testing and certification solution for mobile devices to our clients helping them reduce testing cost, speeding up time to market and verifying product quality.

*Remarks
• RSE test is to measure the spurious emission (like spurious and harmonic signals), in order not to interfere with other user equipment’ operation.
• 3GPP has defined a limit for Radiated Spurious Emission test. Detailed test requirements could be found in the following test specifications:
   - 3GPP TS 51.010 section 12.2.1 & 12.2.2 (for GSM terminal)
   - 3GPP TS 34.124 section 8.2 (for UTRA terminal)
