Internet of Vehicles

Many unpredictable car accidents often occur; thus, how to design a car that drives safely, whilst maintaining quality concerns, to prevent accidents is integral to all manufactures. Parking infrared ray and image display optical cameras are widely utilized in driving security systems, however, increasingly more and more vehicles integrate the Microwave Radar Collision Warning System into a Human Machine Interface (HMI) Warning System. These new applications are required to comply with strict regulatory standards in order to validate products meet high safety and quality criteria. Bureau Veritas’ new lab in HsinChu Science park has a wide range of cutting-edge instruments to support the rapid growth of the IoV related precision products, providing a comprehensive testing solution for Radar Frequency Detection helping manufacturers gain fast access in the competitive IoV market.

Smart Grid

The new era of IoT is approaching where an increasing amount of products and infrastructure will be connected to the Internet in the future. “Smart Grid” will be one of significant topics among IoT related applications. Smart Grid introduces two ways dialog where electricity supply and customer information can be exchanged between the utility provider and its customer. “Smart Grid” is developing into a network communication that consists of controls, computers, automation, as well as new technology and equipment, working together to make utility provision more efficient, more reliable, more secure and greener. Whilst “Smart Grid” brings significant benefit to society; it also brings a range of impacts that need to be navigated to all aspects of the electricity industry, from power generation, transmission and distribution, to new standards and regulations and end-user usage. Governments and industry are investing heavily in this upgrade of the electric grid, with many electrical and electricity products with new technology needed to be implemented to smart grid programs. These products are required to comply with regulatory standards, such as EMC, RF to assess compliance and identify non-compliant devices. Bureau Veritas’ new lab is TAF ISO 17025 accredited, and provides a comprehensive “one-stop” testing and certification services for Smart Grid devices. It supports clients’ products in complying with all standards and regulatory requirements specific to the electricity industry, as well as assisting clients with deploying their devices and smart grid program in countries worldwide.
