Bureau Veritas CPS E&E Taiwan helped acquiring 1st FCC LTE USB modem certificate in Taiwan

Bureau Veritas CPS E&E Taiwan helped acquiring the first FCC LTE USB modem certificate in Taiwan on April 15, 2011. LTE USB modem is the category that should require SAR considerations and be certified according to FCC PBA (Permit But Ask) procedure. However, the certificate was finally granted under BV CPS E&E Taiwan’s efforts.

FCC PBA (Permit But Ask) Procedure

FCC specifies a list of devices subject to PBA procedure in the document “388624 D02 Permit But Ask List” and SAR considerations are required for LTE devices. Please refer to the following link for the description of FCC PBA procedure. (https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/kdb/forms/FTSSearchResultPage.cfm?switch=P&id=28319)
